The Noble Thumb I Windfarm, located in Bingham and Sheridan townships, is a 46-turbine wind energy project designed to generate 69 megawatts of clean energy. Utilizing 46 GE 1.5 megawatt turbines, the wind farm will produce enough power to supply approximately 23,000 average homes. One of KWRE team members, led by electrical engineer Priyantha Sirisooriya, played a key role in designing and overseeing the installation of the electrical systems for this project.
The overall windfarm design was developed to integrate seamlessly into the agricultural landscape, working closely with local farmers and community stakeholders. The design team also provided essential materials and information to the development team, local community leaders, and farmers, facilitating the successful implementation of the wind farm and ongoing community engagement. The Noble Thumb I Windfarm is a significant milestone in advancing Michigan’s renewable energy goals.
